Getting there
Thought I’d update you on the upholstery, not least because it might spur me to get on with the dining chairs of which there are still only three re-covered! So here’s a series of photos showing the progress:
As you can see this is a labour of love and it is hardly surprising that if you want upholstery done for you you will be charged a fortune. It not only takes time but is surprisingly physical... traditionally a man's job.

I am SO impressed that you are tackling this project! I have a similar piece in desperate need of a makeover. Not even piles of pillows and artfully draped throws can hide those stripes!
Amazing skill to have - am impressed. Look forward to seeing the next stages.
It's very complicated! I couldn't do it without the guidance of our teacher who trained at the London College of furniture and takes on projects for the likes of the National Trust in real life.
